Tianjin Binhai Mazu Cultural Park Opened to the Public

  Tianjin Binhai Mazu Cultural Park formally opened to the public on September 11. Zong Guoying, a member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Party Committee of Binhai New Area, Long Mingbiao, deputy director of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Luo Yuanpeng, deputy director of the standing committee of Municipal People’s Congress, Hu Zhiqiang, vice-chairman of vice chairman of KMT and guest representatives from Taiwan unveiled the nameplate together. Zhang Yong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and governor of Binhai New Area delivered a speech at the ceremony. Zheng Huiying, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of Politics and Law Committee, and Xu Datong, director of the Management Committee of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City attended the ceremony; the nameplate unveiling ceremony was held by deputy governor Shan Zefeng.

  In his speech Zhang Yong said that, the long-standing Mazu Culture is a positive culture that has been accumulated by Chinese nation over the past hundreds of years; it originated from and gained further development at Taiwan. Tianjin’s Mazu Culture has a long history and wide-spread influence, and has an in-depth relation with Taiwan’s Mazu Culture. Over the recent years, Tianjin and Taiwan not only gained remarkable achievements in terms of carrying forward Mazu Culture, but also established close cooperative relationship in commercial trade. Since the opening-up of Binhai New Area, its economic and social development has been maintaining a strong momentum, making it one of the most vigorous and potential market of the whole country. More and more Taiwan businessmen look to further development of Binhai New Area and come to the New Area for investment opportunities. Many Taiwan enterprises even grew into world famous brand companies in the New Area, making the New Area a highlight for investment to many Taiwan enterprises. It is hoped that by taking this nameplate unveiling ceremony as an opportunity, Binhai New Area may become an important platform for the cultural and commercial exchange of Mainland China and Taiwan, and thus making contributions to the amicable cooperation and sustained development of various sectors.

  Responsible persons of relevant municipal departments, the Government of Nankai District and the Management Committee of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City attended the ceremony.
