On May 17, the Administrative Committee of Cangzhou Bohai New Area, Tianjin Port (Group) Co., Ltd., Hebei Port Group Co., Ltd. jointly signed a formal framework agreement in 2017 China (Langfang) International Economic & Trade Fair to accelerate the development of Huanghua Container Port. This indicates that the synergistic development of ports in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is accelerating, and a world-class port group has taken a new key step.
It is reported that after the tripartite parties signed the framework agreement, they will adhere to the principle of "realization of advantages, mutual promotion, long-term cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win", spare efforts to expand the depth and breadth of cooperation, and give more supports to projects such as co-ordination led by the Bohai Tianjin-Hebei Port Investment Development Co., Ltd. in constructing the Huanghua Comprehensive Container Terminal and participators in the development and construction of Huanghua Comprehensive Terminal and so on, to strive to create a new pattern for complementary of advantages among ports in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with coordinated division of labor and joint efforts.
It is learned that after the signing of the framework agreement, Bohai Tianjin-Hebei Port Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Cangzhou Bohai Port Co., Ltd. also signed an equity transfer agreement with the Cangzhou Bohai Tianjin-Hebei Container Terminal Co., Ltd.. Under the agreement, after the acquisition, Bohai Tianjin-Hebei Port Investment Development Co., Ltd. will hold 90% of stake of Cangzhou Bohai Tianjin-Hebei Container Terminal Co., Ltd.. This will deepen the implementation of the national strategy of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and promote the complementary of advantages among ports in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with cooperation and win-win. In the future, this will lay a solid foundation for a scientific layout of container shipping featuring the Tianjin Port as a center and Tangshan Port and Huanghua Port as two wings.
As an important gateway for the opening of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei offshore market and an important support for the construction of the northern core area of international shipping in Tianjin, Tianjin Port has obvious advantages in the development of its container business. 120 container liner routes and more than 550 flights per month offer direct access to the world's major ports.
At present, Tianjin Port has opened feeder lines to Qinhuangdao, Beijing, Tangshan, Caofeidian, Huanghua and other neighboring ports around the Bohai Bay, achieving a development scale with an average weekly frequency of 20 voyages and an annual container throughput of over 800,000 TEU, as well as forming a preliminary three-level route network system featuring Tianjin Port as the center with "Bohai Rim, the sea side of Bohai and the globe", which has an annual container throughput of more than 14.5 million TEUs.（By Wang Ning）
