Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with the continuous economic development of Binhai New Area, as well as people's increasing demand for traveling, the transport industry maintains a stable development trend. According to statistics, as of the end of 2016, there were 7779 legal representatives in transportation, warehousing, post and telecommunications enterprises in Binhai New Area, 3119 more than that of 2012, 66.9% up, with an average annual growth of 13.7%. In 2016, the transportation enterprises above designated size achieved operating income of 122.49 billion yuan, with profit of 5.85 billion yuan, 27.5% up and 94.4% up than that of 2012 respectively, with an average annual growth rate of 6.3% and 18.1%. The expanding scale of the enterprises brought about more employment. At the end of 2016, the number of employees in transportation and communication was 84097, 5081 more than that of 2012, and the total per capita wage in 2016 was 96556 yuan, 17.2 percent more than that of 2012.
In terms of the mode of transport, comprehensive profitability of water transport enterprises significantly improved, and in 2016, enterprises above the scale in water transport industry achieved a total profit of 3.06 billion yuan, which, compared with 2012, turned losses into profit of 3.88 billion yuan. From the industrial analysis, the transport support services represented by storage industry, loading and unloading industry, transport intermediator industry continued to grow. In 2016, there were more than 683 companies in the transport support services industry, 283 more than that of 2012. In 2016, operating income reached 68.19 billion yuan, 72.6% more than that of 2012, with an average annual growth of 14.6%, accounting for 55.7% of the total operating income. Compared with 2012, it has been increased by 14.6 percentage points.
Tianjin Port is to be built into a shining pearl of the "Belt and Road" Initiative.

It pays attention to division of labor with other ports in the Bohai Sea, advances resource integration in the Tianjin Port, and promotes the accelerated accumulation of shipping elements. It constantly upgrades collection and distribution system of the modern ports, improves the various modes of transport system, and strengthens the hub positions of ports and airports.
At present, Tianjin Port has become a world's artificial deep-water port with the highest level, and China's largest integrated port in the north. In 2016, cargo throughput of Tianjin Port exceeded 550 million tons, ranking the fourth in the world; container throughput reached more than 14.51 million TEUs, ranking the tenth in the world. At the same time, Tianjin Port is one of the most complete ports in China, with specialized berths such as containers, ores, coal, coke, crude oil, oil products, steel, large equipment, bulk grain, international cruise ships and so on. It has wide foreign and trade relations with more than 500 ports in more than 180 countries and regions in the world, and container liner routes are up to 120; it has strong internal radiation ability, with a hinterland area of nearly 5 million square kilometers, accounting for 52% of the total area of the country.
Tianjin Port has continuously strengthened and improved the service function. The established Tianjin International Trade and Shipping Service Center is the largest "one-stop" shipping service center in China. It has successfully implemented a "three one" customs clearance mode say declaration, inspection and release; therefore, the port customs clearance environment has been continuously optimized. It is to build the green channel of the sea logistics, and the feeder transit lines in the Bohai Sea has exceeded 650,000 TEUs, which further consolidates its status of a hub in the Bohai Sea region. As of the end of 2016, Binhai Airport is operating a total of 165 routes to 127 cities. Only in the year of 2016, the airport passenger traffic points increased to 24, and more than five daily passenger express lines and 30 quasi-fast lines to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian and other places. At the same time it spares efforts to increase the regional flights, to build Beijing's second air corridor for passengers, to add a number of new routes to tourist attractions, and to have 58 feeder airports with passenger throughput of below 10 million. It has initially established a combination of domestic and foreign airlines mainly to passenger routes network covering Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe. It vigorously develops the air transport, air-land transport and intermodal transport of air transport and other modes to basically realize the market coverage in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
In 2016, the annual passenger throughput of Binhai Airport amounted to 16.872 million, and the growth rate is the fastest among airports with capacity of 10 million in the country, 1.1 times higher than that of 2012, with an average annual increase of 20.4%. Cargo and mail throughput amounted to 237,100 tons, 22.1% higher than that of 2012. Yearly taking off aircrafts amounted to 143,800, 71.8% higher than that of 2012. Its ranking in he national airport traffic raised from No. 24 to No.20.
The road traffic system framework is basically formed.
Yujiapu High-speed Railway Station was put into use and it is a heavy color in the construction of a comprehensive transport system framework in Binhai New Area since the 18th National Congress of CPC was held. 5 years later by far, traffic construction in Binhai New Area has leaps and bounds. It has completed the Binhai Road, Central Avenue, West Central Expressway, West Outer Ring Expressway, Port Highway for collection and distribution, and a number of skeleton road network, urban expressways and main roads in Binhai New Area. It has completed the first all-underground integrated hub project with an inter-city high-speed railway station in the north - Yujiapu Hub Station, and caisson tunnel- Haihe Tunnel in the Central Avenue- the first one in the north and other technical projects of great difficulty. It achieved the open traffic of the 91-km Binhai Terrain. It newly expanded 3 highways and 14 trunk roads while overhauling 150 km of rural roads. Rail transit B1 line and Z4 line start construction while Z2 line starts implementation.
In terms of city public transport, Binhai New Area formed a perfect urban public transport system including buses, coaches, taxis and rail traffic. As of 2016, there were 2162 buses in operation in Binhai New Area, 982more than that of 2012, 83.1% up. 140 bus lines, 66 more than that of 2012; line length reached 3972.2 km, 1988.2 km longer than that of 2012. 8090 taxis, 2736 more than that of 2012, which constitutes a major way of urban traffic together with Shenzhou cars, DiDi express cars and other online car hailing services. In 2016, light rail operated 152 vehicles, with an operating length of 52.3 km and a total passenger volume of 30.81 million, becoming the main way between Tianjin and Binhai New Area.(By Wang Ning)
