“This year marks a very rapid development of cross-border e-commerce in TBNA. Large-scale cross-border e-commerce platforms are competing to enter, and consumers’ overall orders are growing in a 'rocket type'. Especially in the Dongjiang Bonded Port Area, cross-border e-commerce has shown a good momentum of development," The relevant person in charge of the Binhai New Area Business Committee said.
It is claimed that in addition to the Netease Koala with the biggest current cross-border market share and Xiaohongshu which occupies the largest share of communities and beauty brands, this year, Cainiao, Suning and other large cross-border e-commerce platforms will be divided into the distribution platform in North China in Dongjiang Bonded Port Area. According to statistics, in the first ten months of this year, the cross-border e-commerce volume in Dongjiang completed 5.7 million units, a year-on-year increase of 10.3 times. It is expected that during this year's "Double Eleven" period, the single volume will exceed 2 million orders, which is 12 times that of the same period of last year. It is the absolute leader and leading position in Tianjin.
"From the time of the order placed on November 11, the overall order transaction of consumers is very active. Last year, like the cross-border e-commerce platform such as NetEase Koala, the main products in Dongjiang warehouse were mainly maternity and baby products, and this year it involves all kinds of maternal and children products, healthcare products, beauty products, snacks, etc. All the products on the front list that can be carried out in the market are almost all bonded and stocked in Dongjiang. What is especially worth mentioning is a batch of pet food that arrived at the port recently. The major cross-border e-commerce platform is very rich in stocking, which directly drives the rapid growth of orders,” said Wang Xiang, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Administrative Committee of Dongjiang Bonded Port Area.
Netease Koala, which occupies the country's first cross-border market share, this year spent the second "single day" shopping spree in Tianjin. “Compared to last year, the koala warehouse area in Tianjin has increased by nearly 4 times. It is estimated that the shipment volume will increase by 7 times compared with last year, and the scale of bonded stocking will increase 10 times compared with last year,” said Cui Junjie, head of Netease Koala Tianjin.
Fully automated warehouse application greatly improves sorting and delivery efficiency.
After the "Single Day" order, whether it can receive the goods as soon as possible is the most concerned issue for consumers. The reporter saw such a scene at the Cross-border E-Commerce Distribution Center in Dongjiang. In a two-story warehouse, there are almost no operators except the continuous work vehicles. This warehouse is a fully automated warehouse newly commissioned by NetEase Koala before the “Single Day”, and warehousing logistics services are provided by SF Group.
“If the equipment is fully turned on, it can increase the efficiency of manual sorting by 20 times.” Cui Junjie said. In addition to greatly improving sorting efficiency, this three-dimensional fully automated warehouse is also used to achieve better space utilization.
"At present, China's cross-border e-commerce distribution centers are mainly concentrated in the three regions of North China, East China and South China. Based on the development advantages of port routes, bonded warehousing, policies, etc., Dongjiang has become the preferred distribution center for North China. Wang Xiang said that in the next step, Dongjiang will also combine its own development characteristics, do a good job in trade finance business, form a one-stop service in trade, finance, shipping, warehousing, etc., and promote the development of cross-border e-commerce in the northern region.
